Movie Review: Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington

Okay, I'm regaining hope for Philippine cinema or at least yung mga recent films na napanuod/nababalitaan ko. After the wonderful Babae sa Septic Tank last month (?) or so, here's another indie/Cinemalaya film making its way to our mainstream cinemas: Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington.

Even the poster's awesome (via)
Para sa tamad na nagbabasa ng front page lang (kung meron man), I recommend this film. Go watch and support it!

Light Duct Tapes!

I know hindi ko inabutan ang original Tron film back in the early 80's but napanood ko naman sya just to see what they were all excited about when Tron: Legacy was released last year. Well, the original turns out to be a sort-of Matrix type kind of film with all the computers and all the digital effects the 80's had to offer that time. Awesome graphics and spaceships and computer battles Blocks and pixels. So seeing this duct tape ad made me smile dahil they went for the old film's light cycle scene.

1000++ internets to the ones who conceptualized this advertisement. And a slight deduction for the awkwardness of Tron Guy and his wife sister. What? Anong stereotyping? Judgmental? ME? Well screw you *goes to garage with a pole SCH-IIIIING! PEW PEW PEW!

Movie Review: The Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Good Lord that's one long ass movie title. Ano yan tongue twister? And writing this review took me what? Two weeks? I know I'm starting to lose focus once more but hell, I rarely watch t.v. these days and rarely go online. So now on with the movie...

When this was announced, I wasn't particularly excited with the concept. I mean, really? A movie where almost all of us knows the ending? It's practically written in the title so you know what to expect. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes. And the tagline states: Evolution becomes Revolution. Basic math na lang yan and context clues, ohhh me know math!! hooh hooh haah haah! me likey.

Was I surprised when I watched this film and found myself engaged in one of the best movies so far this year.

Movie Review: Ang Babae sa Septic Tank

Well this took a while. Sorry.

Something worthwhile (got this via)
So you've lost hope in Philippine Cinema? Getting tired of the same old formulas that the mainstream studios come up with? Don't worry hindi lang ikaw ang nakaka-experience nyan, and once you watch a film as brilliantly funny and entertaining as Ang Babae sa Septic Tank, you'll realize as well: "Sa wakas may bagong klase ng pelikulang mapapanuod ang nakakaraming Pilipino."

Usapang Sabaw: Brief o Bangs

So, earlier this week, Warner Bros. released an official photograph for their upcoming movie on 2013: Man of Steel. In the released photograph, you can clearly see Superman breaking into a vault or some heavy-steel-door something.

He looks serious. (via)
As you can clearly see, Superman's rocking what appears to be a new hairstyle without the traditional curly bangs and a new darker suit, but what we can't see is if he's wearing any underwear on his costume due to the apparent darkness of his crotch. Now this I hope will be a start on a segment here where we ask questions you could ask your friends kapag nag-iinuman kayo: What's more important to get the trademark Superman look? His Bangs or his Briefs?

Ah! Just in time for the new film!

If you're a normal person not living in a cave (except Bruce of course), chances are you've seen the trailer for the new Spiderman film coming out next year, a reboot of a film series we kinda grew up with. Well, to coincide with the promotions that they're doing for the film (trailer, comic-con surprises, Andrew Garfield in the Social Network) and the passing of the suit from Tobey to Andrew, Marvel showed the world the new Spiderman in their Ultimate universe. Spoilers ahead if you're updated in the comics and stuff.

Sooo in line with the movie. (via)

Why Jollibee?! Why?!?!

Back in elementary (or was it in kinder?) there was one delicacy that I always craved for whenever we visit a Jollibee store. You know, the mouth-watering-I-want-more-of-this-stuff-I-don't-care-if-I-had-3-already-and-our-family-line-has-diabetes, kind of craving. No? You have no idea? Chickenjoys? screw your chickenjoys! No not that one, I'm not talking about this:

HEAVEN!!!! (via)
