Movie Review: Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington
Okay, I'm regaining hope for Philippine cinema or at least yung mga recent films na napanuod/nababalitaan ko. After the wonderful Babae sa Septic Tank last month (?) or so, here's another indie/Cinemalaya film making its way to our mainstream cinemas: Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington.
Para sa tamad na nagbabasa ng front page lang (kung meron man), I recommend this film. Go watch and support it!

Movie Review: The Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Good Lord that's one long ass movie title. Ano yan tongue twister? And writing this review took me what? Two weeks? I know I'm starting to lose focus once more but hell, I rarely watch t.v. these days and rarely go online. So now on with the movie...
When this was announced, I wasn't particularly excited with the concept. I mean, really? A movie where almost all of us knows the ending? It's practically written in the title so you know what to expect. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes. And the tagline states: Evolution becomes Revolution. Basic math na lang yan and context clues, ohhh me know math!! hooh hooh haah haah! me likey.
Was I surprised when I watched this film and found myself engaged in one of the best movies so far this year.

Movie Review: Ang Babae sa Septic Tank
Well this took a while. Sorry.
So you've lost hope in Philippine Cinema? Getting tired of the same old formulas that the mainstream studios come up with? Don't worry hindi lang ikaw ang nakaka-experience nyan, and once you watch a film as brilliantly funny and entertaining as Ang Babae sa Septic Tank, you'll realize as well: "Sa wakas may bagong klase ng pelikulang mapapanuod ang nakakaraming Pilipino."

Usapang Sabaw: Brief o Bangs
So, earlier this week, Warner Bros. released an official photograph for their upcoming movie on 2013: Man of Steel. In the released photograph, you can clearly see Superman breaking into a vault or some heavy-steel-door something.
| He looks serious. (via) |
As you can clearly see, Superman's rocking what appears to be a new hairstyle without the traditional curly bangs and a new darker suit, but what we can't see is if he's wearing any underwear on his costume due to the apparent darkness of his crotch. Now this I hope will be a start on a segment here where we ask questions you could ask your friends kapag nag-iinuman kayo: What's more important to get the trademark Superman look? His Bangs or his Briefs?

Ah! Just in time for the new film!
If you're a normal person not living in a cave (except Bruce of course), chances are you've seen the trailer for the new Spiderman film coming out next year, a reboot of a film series we kinda grew up with. Well, to coincide with the promotions that they're doing for the film (trailer, comic-con surprises, Andrew Garfield in the Social Network) and the passing of the suit from Tobey to Andrew, Marvel showed the world the new Spiderman in their Ultimate universe. Spoilers ahead if you're updated in the comics and stuff.

Movie Review: The Town
Before it gets drowned by the critically acclaimed The Social Network and the sequel to last year's Paranormal Activity, ummm Paranormal Activity 2, I'd like to write a review for this little known film (well konti lang yata ang nakapanuod nito, di ko napansin sa Facebook wall updates ko) called The Town.
Di ko to pinalagpas because c'mon, how uncommon are these types of movies these days?

Movie Review: The Big Lebowski
Duuuuuude. That has got to be one of the most sabaw films I've watched. Like ever. Kakapanood ko lang ng The Big Lebowski by the Coen brothers, and man was it so weird. And high. I think I felt high. Like I'm on something while watching it.
Like seriously, duuude, read on.

You can actually reach out!
Well there's no point denying that the 3-D Revolution in Visual Media is here. Every month, there's at least one movie that is being shown in 3-D in your local cinemas (kahit na hindi worth it). 2-D films are now being constantly 'upgraded' to 3-D just to be in this trend. Even television sets are getting the 3-D makeover creating that full immersion in the shows and programs you'll be seeing. You'll automatically be a part of the program!
But then some geniuses (or perverts, depends on your preference) came up with something. Well, it really is just a matter of time before the 3-D revolution went there. What is it you ask? I'll assure you that this news will blow you away and it will really suck you in (you'll see what I did there, eventually). Well it's none other than... (for those at work, I'm warning you, but it'll be PG-13. no worries)

Gisa (or Review): Batman: Under the Red Hood
Another freaking Batman post in this blog! I know.. sorry. I've just recently, like a while ago type of recently, finished watching this new animated film that features Batman (so obvious) and a new character that starts to menace Gotham City and Batman himself: The Red Hood.
Seriously, I'm going to convince you to see this movie and talk a little bit about Batman in the process so read on.

Disney's Inception: Something simpler.
Well this is certainly interesting. As the title suggests, this is a post for all the people who somehow didn't get Inception. For the people who asked "wtf just happened?", here's a simpler storyline for you. Ever heard of a character named Donald Duck?

I feel ummm, weak?
So we were walking in the mall yesterday and I saw something that reduced or maybe overpowered is the term(?), I saw a poster and a small tv screen showing a trailer that metaphorically grabbed my manliness, punched it repeatedly while shooting it with a grenade launcher and then spat and laughed at it in the process. Yep, that kind of overpowering ka-macho-han. I'm talking about this people:
See that? Can you even comprehend how much testosterone seeps out of that poster? I'm guessing they made this poster using the bloods of all the hoodlums and goons they've killed in all of their movies. You know even Rambo alone could've done that, but combine him with John McClane, and the Transporter, and Jet Li?!?! If that poster didn't do you in, I'm saying this trailer will:
Holy eff... if you still want to feel more manly (or less manly, depends on how you take it) than ever, then read on

Be afraid people! Be very afraid!
So during the last movie I've watched (Inception) in a theater, a particular trailer caught my attention... Well everyone's attention for that matter. It's super good you will not believe you're actually seeing it (even if it's just the trailer I'm talking about here). Ladies and gentlemen, please see: PIRANHA 3D.
OOOOOHHHH. They placed this before Inception to maybe, I don't know, show contrast?
Anyway this trailer got me thinking, is there any way anyone could top what they have there? I mean look at them, PIRANHAS... IN THE SEA! All they really need is Samuel Jackson and the movie's complete!
But lo and behold. I came across something far more awesome-er. And it's far more insane!
See what it is after the jump.
